Dating back to Hippocrates (460-377 BC), homeopathy is a complete system of medicine which involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances that intentionally trigger the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The modern form was developed in the early 19th century by a German medical doctor named Samuel Hahnemann. The British royal family, well-known for longevity, regularly uses homeopathic treatments as a means of encouraging continued good health.
Homeopathy is based on the principle of like cures like, where a substance that causes symptoms when taken in large doses by a healthy person, is used in minute amounts to treat those same symptoms exhibited by a sick person. For example, bee venom, when it enters the body via a bee-sting, will cause swelling, inflammation and pain, but Apis—an extremely dilute concentration of the honey bee venom—will actually encourage the body to fight and overcome these symptoms.
Remedies used by homeopathic practitioners come from natural sources and are prepared in such a way that they are free from all chemical toxicity. The object of homeopathy is to treat the whole person, thereby removing the root cause of disease to bring about a cure on all levels. The homeopathic remedy serves as an instruction manual which gently shows the body how to effectively clear away obstacles in its path, leading to a successful recovery.
Homeopathic treatment is comprised of in-depth consultations and the prescription of remedies in pellet or liquid form.
